Job Description

ABOUT YOU:

Are you an accounting professional looking to grow your operational influence? S&B Services, a dynamic construction services firm, seeks a well-rounded accounting professional to manage daily business operations for the growing organization. With primary direct accounting and finance responsibilities, this role will serve as a conduit between S&B and external HR, Safety, and Legal consultants.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Oversee and manage all accounting and financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and job cost ledger maintenance
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Develop and monitor financial controls to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial transactions
Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership
Design, implement, and improve operational systems, processes, and policies to optimize organizational efficiency
Coordinate office administration, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations
Monitor organizational performance metrics and develop strategies to meet operational goals
Act as a key partner to leadership, providing operational and financial insights to support decision-making
Lead cross-functional projects to drive organizational growth and efficiency
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or MBA is a plus
5-7 years of proven experience in accounting, ideally in a small organization
Federal contracting experience is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Experience in the construction industry is considered a plus but is not required
The ideal candidate will be adept at tailoring their communication approach to diverse audiences to meet the needs of the business
Ideal candidates will have the initiative to establish productive working relationships with all levels of associates
