Pay Range: $75,500.00-$116,900.00 Company Overview:

Job Description:

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:   Join our team as an Editor/Grant Writer ! We are looking for a dynamic professional to assist the Editorial and Grant Writing Services team in supporting faculty in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery.  

Role Overview:  

  • Be a member of a collaborative, experienced team of twenty-seven medical editors/project managers who support MSK's surgeons and medical oncologists.  
  • Edit, write, and coordinate academic, research, and grant-related documents.  
  • Identify opportunities for p eer-reviewed funding, locate suitable applicants, provide support with grant preparation, and work with investigators and other staff to ensure timely submission of proposals to improve external funding for the research program.  

 

Key Qualifications:  

  • 3+ years of grant submission / project-coordination experience.  
  • 3+ years of publishing or editing experience preferred.  
  • A reliable internet connection and experience with virtual meeting software like Zoom or Microsoft Teams required .  
  • Substantive editing, stylistic editing, and copy editing required.  
  • Certification via the American Medical Writers Association, Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS), or University of Chicago Medical Writing & Editing Program preferred.  

 

Core Skills:  

  • Developmental and plain language editing preferred.  
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex information.  
  • Flexibility in approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances.  
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology; academic publ ishing; and grammar, syntax, and usage.  
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and bibliographic/reference management software (i.e., EndNote).  
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Writer, Photoshop, and Illustrator helpful .  
  • Excellent communication skills and the a bility to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner.  
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to MSK's vision, mission, and values.  

 

Additional Information:  

  • Location: Remote  
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours  
  • Reporting to: Managing Editor/Grant Wri ter  

 

Pay Range: $75,500.00-$116,900.00.
