Overview
Lone Star Circle of Care is seeking a dedicated endocrinologist to establish specialty care servicing both our federally qualified health center (FQHC) patients and the broader community. The ideal candidate brings expertise in diagnosing and managing endocrine conditions while embracing a mission-driven, patient-centric approach to care. Responsible for the medical care of LSCC patients by providing comprehensive outpatient diagnosis and treatment of endocrine (hormone-related) conditions and disorders, such as: diabetes, thyroiddysfunction, obesity, osteoporosis, adrenaldisorders, lipid disorders, metabolic abnormalities, growth disorders, or conditions of sexual function and reproduction.
Physicians are responsible for upholding the values and mission statement of LSCC and will conduct themselves as senior level, full time professional employees of the organization. Under the direction of the Medical Director, delivers primary care commensurate with training to patients of LSCC. Delivers care appropriate for an outpatient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population.
Responsibilities
Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an outpatient basis. Treat and manage patients who present for care typically managed by an Endocrinologist. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Provide comprehensive outpatient endocrinology care for patients with diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases, osteoporosis, and metabolic disorders.
Diagnose and manage complex endocrine conditions, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid nodules, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and lipid disorders.
Develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating medication management, lifestyle modifications, and evidence-based interventions.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as dynamic endocrine testing.
May perform and interpret thyroid ultrasounds and fine-needle aspiration biopsies.
Collaborate with primary care providers, dietitians, diabetes educators, and clinical pharmacists to enhance chronic disease management.
Implement population health strategies to improve diabetes and metabolic disease outcomes in underserved populations.
Educate patients and families on self-management strategies, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes to prevent complications.
Engage in innovative care models to expand access to endocrinology services.
Support quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and health equity efforts to address disparities in endocrine care.
Qualifications
You are a board-certified endocrinologist who is passionate about working with the underserved population and those who may be experiencing significant barriers to care. You want to grow a practice where you get to decide the plan of care.

Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Current valid license to practice medince in the State of Texas.
Current DEA certificate.
Comfortable working independently in a group setting while also seeking support and consultation from colleagues.
Ability to interact and collaborate with community partners and emergency medical/psychiatric service providers to ensure patient safety, including whether a patient needs a higher level of care.
Possesses computer/technology skills to efficiently document using an electronic health record and conduct telemedicine visits, as well as communicating/meeting with colleagues virtually.
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.
