A test will be administered prior to employment.As a Family Advocate, you will play a crucial role in coordinating referrals, participating in School Student Study Teams, and engaging in weekly case management meetings. Your work will involve conducting needs assessments, developing and following up on case plans, and providing early intervention through in-home support. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing a realistic framework focused on prevention and early intervention.Qualifications:Family Advocate I:Has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work, or Health Education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Family Advocate II:Has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work, or Health Education, and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Has a valid California Driver's License.As a Family Advocate you will:Facilitate entry of eligible children into the SAFE programs and orient parents to the program's goals and objectives.Support SAFE families by identifying problems, linking them with appropriate referral systems and services, and following up to ensure services are received.Encourage families to participate in program and community events, and develop self-sufficiency skills.Participate in comprehensive family needs assessments to develop case plans focusing on the whole child and family.Provide case management services under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and in collaboration with SAFE partners.Implement health, nutrition, school completion/equivalency, child development, and parenting goals through one-on-one case management.Conduct regular home visits to foster open communication and develop trusting relationships with families.Encourage parent participation at school conferences, parent education nights, and Individualized Educational Plan meetings.Network with related agencies to link clients to community resources.Please note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
