Minimum Qualifications:
Plumber I High school diploma/GED and one year of prior successful work experience in plumbing, gas piping installations, drain cleaning and other utility experience in the building trades or technical field.
Plumber II High school diploma/GED and two years of prior successful work experience in plumbing, gas piping installations, drain cleaning and other utility experience in the building trades or technical field.
Plumber III High school diploma/GED and three years of prior successful work experience in plumbing, gas piping installations, drain cleaning and other utility experience in the building trades or technical field. Will require a Journeyman license before hire.
Plumber IV High school diploma/GED and five years of prior successful work experience in plumbing, gas piping installations, drain cleaning and other utility experience in the building trades or technical field. Will require a Plumbers Contract license before hire.
Post-secondary may be substituted for experience; preference given to post-secondary education in plumbing.
Have, before hire and maintain after hire, a valid drivers license. A valid drivers license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required to perform the job duties as assigned.
Candidate position placement is dependent upon years of experience and availability.
Working knowledge of plumbing codes and how to install systems to meet these codes. Knowledge of various materials that can be used and meet all codes.
Ability to follow instructions precisely and completely.
Must have good communication skills.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Positive team standing.
Ability to become proficient in the use of AiM computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.
Must work safely, adhere to all safety requirements, and promote a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical degree.
