We have a consulting opportunity with a PE-owned renewable energy portfolio company. My client is seeking a data center consultant with expertise in data center strategy, design, and operations . Here’s a breakdown of the ideal consultant profile:

Key Expertise Areas

Data Center Design and Engineering

• Understanding of power, cooling, and space planning.
• Knowledge of Tier classifications (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier levels).
• Experience in designing for scalability, redundancy, and energy efficiency.

IT Infrastructure and Technology

• Proficiency in understanding server, storage, and networking requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud vs. on-premises infrastructure trade-offs.
• Familiarity with emerging trends, such as edge computing or green data centers.

Energy and Sustainability

• Expertise in energy consumption optimization.
• Experience with renewable energy solutions (e.g., solar, wind, or RNG integration).
• Familiarity with energy certifications and efficiency metrics (e.g., PUE - Power Usage Effectiveness).

Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge

• Understanding of data center-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC standards).
• Expertise in environmental and energy compliance.

Market Research and Strategy

• Knowledge of trends in data center demand by industry (e.g., AI, IoT, FinTech).
