Job Title: Stacker/Packer - 2nd Shift
Job Description

Candidates will work in a production environment that produces food products. Responsibilities include working on production lines, boxing and stacking products, loading and unloading products into machines, palletizing products, and wrapping them. Candidates will handle boxes weighing 15-20 pounds, either loading them into machines or stacking them on pallets. They may also open boxes with empty glass bottles and feed them into production machines or palletize finished products.

• Handle boxes weighing 15-20 pounds.
• Feed empty glass bottles into production machines.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the day.
• Follow all GMP practices.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 15-20 pounds.
• Ability to be on feet for 10-12 hour shifts.
• Ability to work collaboratively on a production line.
• Experience working on a high-speed production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, production, general labor, and production line work.
• Experience with stackers, pallet jacks, packing, and palletizing.

The company hosts six events annually, including cookouts, holiday parties, and Thanksgiving potlucks, in which temporary employees can participate. Candidates also have the opportunity to receive a close call bonus for reporting issues against GMP or quality rules.

Work Environment

Candidates will work in a food manufacturing environment that is cold in the winter and warm in the summer due to a lack of air conditioning or heating. They will be exposed to strong smells from products like garlic, jalapenos, salsa, and taco sauce. Shifts can be 10 or 12 hours long, requiring candidates to stand for extended periods. Safety gear, including gloves, beard nets, hair nets, earplugs, and safety glasses, is provided, but candidates must supply their own steel-toe boots. Temporary workers must wear royal blue shirts, which will be supplied. Candidates will work on production lines with 10-20 others, and there can be up to 160-200 people in the warehouse during peak season. Most employees speak Spanish or Haitian Creole. Each candidate is provided with a locker and access to a break room with microwaves and vending machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.25 - $15.25/hr.
