We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer or Geologist 2 to join us to work on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our San Diego, CA or Costa Mesa, CA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will: Conduct field investigations and assessments of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, etc., using approved industry standard procedures. Conduct or oversee geologic site characterization including sub-surface explorations, monitoring well siting and construction, soil vapor probe installation, field sampling, and waste management. Conduct all field efforts in accordance with proposed work scopes and data quality objectives. Conduct field investigations independently while keeping project teams informed on progress, issues observed, and potential deviations from plans. Prepare, maintain, and organize accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation. Apply academic training and computer software to perform calculations and evaluate site data. Draft technical sections of project communications and reports. Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized tasks or project opportunities. Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols. Demonstrate our foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field. 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Proficient technical writing, verbal communication, reasoning, and time-management skills. Able to work independently or with minimal direction in performing tasks and assignments under the direction of senior staff. Desire to learn and grow in their profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership. Experience with Microsoft Suite software. Preferred Skills Master’s degree in engineering, geology or related field. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training. The salary range for this position in San Diego, CA and Costa Mesa, CA is $68,640 - $82,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
