We have an immediate opening for a talented Carpenter Foreman. The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for developing and building strong teams for each project while delivering quality output, meeting customer expectations, managing to scope, delivering on time and delivering within budget. This role ensures adherence to project management best practices and methodologies, while leading by example, and embodying APX Construction Group’s vision, mission, values, and culture of safety. Position: Carpenter Foreman Reports To: Foreman Pay: $40-48 Hourly, Non-Exempt Positions Supervised: 5 Carpenters Hours & Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM with occasional Saturday work. Ability to travel within a 120-mile radius; occasional travel beyond 120 miles required. Job Summary The Foreman’s primary role is to lead and manage all carpentry work with the assigned crew including, but not limited to, supervising all crew members, managing materials and equipment, quality control, job site and coordinating with other foreman and superintendents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and oversee a team of 5 carpenters to ensure tasks are completed on time and to high standards. Assign and schedule work for the team, ensuring a balanced workload and efficient project progression. Manage team performance, providing regular feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and offering coaching to improve skills and productivity. Resolve any personnel issues and ensure the team adheres to company policies and safety procedures. Encourage teamwork and collaboration to ensure successful project completion. Carpentry Duties: Study blueprints and diagrams to determine appropriate height, width, length, and other proportions for construction tasks. Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall. Select the appropriate tools, materials, and methods to complete various carpentry tasks. Install doors, windows, partitions, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required. Create structures for pouring concrete and ensure installations meet quality specifications. Project Management: Monitor and track progress on carpentry projects, adjusting schedules and task assignments as necessary to keep projects on track. Coordinate with the Foreman and other team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Maintain project documentation, including time logs, material tracking, and task completion reports. Safety & Compliance: Understand and observe all safety procedures to prevent injury to yourself or coworkers. Ensure team members follow proper safety protocols and use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Inspect the work environment regularly to ensure it remains safe and free from hazards. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience as a carpenter, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Knowledge of construction-related tools, equipment, and materials. Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written, and digital (phone, email, text). Ability to manage multiple carpentry projects and meet deadlines under pressure. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching required. Full range of physical motion necessary to operate manual and electrically-powered tools. Ability to work at heights (e.g., ladders, scaffolding) and move throughout the construction site. Environment The role involves working with machinery, electricity, and power tools, with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and noise. The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of working at heights. Safety protocols and the use of PPE are required for all aspects of the job.
